A climber accidentally triggered an avalanche on a mountain in Colorado.

Dramatic footage shows a small snow slide in French Creek on Pikes Peak, provoked by a mountaineer on April 1.

The Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) said that across the Northern and Central Mountains, where three to eight inches of snow is expected by Tuesday morning, the avalanche danger is 'considerable'. The increased danger is being driven by the new snow.

An Avalanche Warning is also in effect for the Elk Mountains and Gore Range, where around a foot of new snow is expected on the same day.

The CAIC added: 'With the new snow and the strong winds that come with this storm, you can easily trigger an avalanche where you find wind-drifted snow on steep slopes—especially near ridgelines, in gullies, or behind convex rollovers. Safer travel means sticking to lower-angle or wind-sheltered slopes.'
