Las Lomitas, Argentina - April 05, 2025 [WARNING: violent content] A shocking incident occurred last Saturday in the town of Las Lomitas, Formosa province, where at least 10 local police officers were run over by an ambulance driven by someone participating in an attempted roadblock by indigenous communities. According to police authorities confirmed to Infobae today, Monday, two police officers remained hospitalized in critical condition at the High Complexity Hospital in the provincial capital. Police sources consulted by this media outlet stated that the incident occurred minutes before 2:00 p.m. on Provincial Route 28, near the Campo del Cielo community. What began as a protest, over the course of hours turned into an excessive attack against police officers from different units that make up Regional Unit Five (UR5) based in Las Lomitas, Regional Unit Seven of Villa General Güemes, a section of the Rapid Detachment (DDR) Ingeniero Juárez and Detachment Route 28, who deployed a security device to prevent the total closure of the route and guarantee free movement.
