ARIZONA — April 13, 2025 — A dramatic moment unfolded just before first pitch at the Arizona vs. Oregon State baseball game when a parachutist, likely part of a pre-game stunt, crash-landed into the outfield netting.

Video captured by @gaberguy95 shows the parachutist descending over the stadium before veering off course and becoming entangled in the safety netting near the stands. Onlookers gasped as stadium staff rushed to assist the individual, who appeared to be uninjured but visibly shaken.

While officials have yet to release full details, early reports suggest the parachutist was part of an organized jump for the opening ceremony. It remains unclear whether weather conditions or coordination errors played a role in the mislanding.

This incident is reminiscent of a 2022 scare at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., when a similar parachute stunt caused panic and a temporary evacuation of the U.S. Capitol due to a lack of FAA communication with Capitol Police.

No delays to the game were reported, and the parachutist was safely helped down minutes later.
