A climate extremist was arrested for allegedly attacking a Trump Tower plaque in New York.

Nathaniel Smith, 36, sparked panic when he allegedly vandalised the structure on Wednesday afternoon, April 23.

Authorities said Smith used removable chalk to spray 'USA' on a presidential insignia that honours President Donald Trump, one of the country's most revered leaders.

The act was described by the protester as a call for the country to address what he views as ineffective government institutions contributing to climate issues.

Nathaniel said: 'I did this because I am an American. It is my duty to stand up for my country, and my Earth, when a government becomes destructive of our right to Life.'

The suspect criticised Trump and corporate interests influencing both major political parties, claiming they are complicit in climate inaction.

Footage shows Nathaniel kneeling on the ground and holding a small banner that reads 'Game Over'. He was eventually escorted away from the scene.

He wore a shirt that read 'Join or Die' referencing a phrase from the American Revolution. He said it was a call for unity against tyranny and a demand for new systems to repair the country's damage.

Followers of the climate agenda have resorted to increasingly aggressive public attacks in recent years - often using violence and intimidation to cause chaos on roads, at events and in art galleries.

The Oxford Languages dictionary defines a terrorist as 'a person who uses unlawful violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims'.
