Around 500,000 Palestinians have been displaced by Israeli forces in Gaza over the past month, according to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) on Friday. In a statement, UNRWA said the multiple displacement orders issued by the Israeli military leave Palestinians with less than a third of Gaza's area to live in, adding that the remaining space is fragmented, unsafe, and barely liveable. Overcrowded shelters are in terrible condition, service providers are struggling to operate, and the last resources are being depleted, said the UN agency. Israel has blocked the entry of all humanitarian aid into Gaza since March 2. It then ended a two-month ceasefire with Hamas on March 18 and resumed deadly air and ground assaults on the enclave. The renewed Israeli attacks have so far killed 1,978 Palestinians and injured 5,207 others, Gaza health authorities said Thursday, adding the death toll in the enclave since the war began in October 2023 has risen to 51,355, with 117,248 injured.
