Hero onlooker rescues two drowning girls from swimming pool
A hero father saved two drowning girls from a swimming pool.
Jebat, a policeman, was by the side of the waters, tending to his own child, when he noticed the two youngsters struggling near the adult slide at the Mont Kiara Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Footage shows Jebat swimming over to the kids and grabbing them both before pulling them to safety on April 27.
He successfully rescued the girls within seconds, keeping their heads above water.
The father and cop said: 'I was busy putting a life jacket on my child when I suddenly saw two little girls sinking and emerging, sinking and emerging, sinking and suddenly not emerging at the end of the adult slide.
'In my heart, I told myself that these kids have great swimming and diving skills, but after three seconds, I realised something else was happening. They were drowning.'
Jebat said he learned how to dive from police training.
He added: 'I quickly reached the two girls. I then grabbed them by the back of their shirts and lifted them while flexing my biceps.'
While the youngsters were unhurt, Jebat said he hopes their parents will be more mindful of them.
He said: 'Until the end, I didn't see their parents calling for them even after I had placed them by the side of the pool.'
