Los Angeles, United States - May 17, 2025 05/17/2025 11:00 am GMT-0700 PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – One person was killed after an apparent car explosion outside a fertility clinic Saturday morning. The powerful explosion damaged the clinic, which was felt across the city, and shattered windows in nearby businesses. According to sources, Palm Springs police Chief Andy Mills confirmed that one person died in the blast, which occurred around 11 a.m. in the 1100 block of North Indian Canyon Drive near the American Reproductive Centers fertility clinic which was extensively damaged. Mills said the identity of the person who died is unknown at this time. At this time, the explosion appears to be an intentional, isolated act of violence. The blast field extends for blocks, and several buildings were severely damaged, according to Mills. A vehicle parked near the building exploded, damaging the clinic's office space, according to sources. Federal authorities descended upon the scene to determine if the explosion was an act of terrorism. No employees were reported injured. Additional details will be added shortly.
