VARIOUS OF PATIENTS BOARDING HELICOPTERAMMAN, JORDAN - MAY 14: As part of a humanitarian initiative launched by King Abdullah II to provide treatment for 2,000 children affected by the conflict, six Palestinian children with cancer from the Gaza Strip were brought to Jordan on Tuesday, May 20. A new medical evacuation operation was carried out under royal directives to transfer the six children and their 19 accompanying relatives from Gaza to Jordan for urgent care. King Abdullah II announced the initiative during his visit to the White House on 11 February, declaring Jordan’s readiness to receive 2,000 children from Gaza for medical care. On March 4, Jordan conducted the first evacuation of 29 children and their companions via land and air routes. Of that group, 17 children who had completed their treatment were returned to Gaza on Monday, while 12 others remain in Jordan to continue receiving care.
