A tragic road accident unfolded in Nairobi on 26/5/2025, after a Brookside Dairy truck, moving at high speed, rammed into a motorbike rider attempting to maneuver through heavy traffic. The collision occurred in Nairobi, Outer Ring Road], leaving the rider fatally injured on the spot.
The rider, like many others, was navigating between vehicles stuck in a typical Nairobi traffic jam. While most vehicles were either stationary or inching forward slowly, the Brookside-branded truck approached from behind at an unusually high speed for such a congested area.
Video footage from the scene shows the horrifying moment the truck struck the motorcyclist with immense force, crushing both the rider and the bike. The rider succumbed to injuries almost immediately, and passersby were left in shock.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after, but unfortunately, the rider had already died. The body was later moved by authorities as police launched manhunt for the driver of the truck who fled the scene.
The tragic incident has raised fresh concerns over reckless driving by heavy commercial vehicles in urban traffic zones and the vulnerability of boda boda riders, who often find themselves navigating tight spaces amid impatient motorists.
