A girl learning to paraglide stumbled clumsily several times while learning to take off - before finally getting the hang of the extreme sport.

Heartwarming footage shows the determined aviator Amelia Rahayu trying to launch herself with the help of a gust of wind but failing repeatedly.

Her friends and trainer gave her instructions and laughed with her during failed attempts.

She fell forwards and backwards, with the breeze dragging her as she wobbled.

However, after several weeks of practice she was able to soar in the air above West Sumatra, Indonesia.

Paragliding enthusiast Amelia Rahayu said: 'Those are one of the things you would be expecting while learning. You have to go through the hard times to acheive success.'
