GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - JUNE 3, 2025: Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, enduring prolonged Israeli bombardment, starvation, and forced displacement, are preparing to observe another Eid al-Adha under a tightened blockade. Footage on Tuesday, June 3, shows a small cattle pen owned by a Palestinian man, which was hit by Israeli airstrikes. Only some camels have reportedly survived harsh conditions of the war. Preparations for the Islamic holiday have been severely hindered by a shortage of livestock and unaffordable prices, leaving many families unable to purchase animals for sacrifice. This will mark the second consecutive Eid al-Adha that Palestinians are unable to celebrate due to Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza. Rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing over 54,600 Palestinians, most of them women and children. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
