The statement also noted that several missiles and drones had recently entered Jordanian airspace and were successfully intercepted. The military added the interceptions were carried out to prevent potential casualties, particularly in civilian areas that could have been affected if the projectiles had landed. Jordan announced on Friday a temporary closure of its airspace, local media said. The Jordanian Civil Aviation Authority said that all air traffic to and from the kingdom was halted “in anticipation of any risks that may arise from the ongoing escalation in the region,” the official news agency Petra reported.
