This is the moment Burmese fighter jets allegedly breached Bangladeshi airspace and fired shells near the border on Saturday.

The aircraft were seen flying over the area of Ghumdhum in Bangladesh on September 3, shortly before a barrage of explosives was heard.

Two shells are said to have fallen in the Bandarba area, but no explosions or casualties were reported.

The Bangladesh Foreign Ministry on September 4 reportedly summoned for the third time in two weeks Myanmar's ambassador to protest the alleged incursions amid rising tensions on the border.

Tensions also flared within Bangladesh as fighting between the Myanmar army and Arakan Army fighters have intensified.

Bangladesh instructed its border forces to expand surveillance and security measures along the entire border, where residents were instructed to remain vigilant.
