TEHRAN, IRAN-JUNE 13: Loud explosions were heard in central Tehran late Friday, with reports indicating that Iranian air defense systems were activated to intercept potential threats. Eyewitnesses reported seeing missile interceptions in the sky, suggesting another possible aerial attack on the Iranian capital. The nature of the explosions has not been officially confirmed, but the incident comes hours after Iran launched retaliatory strikes against Israel. Israel resumed attacks on Iranian targets late Friday, continuing military operations that began earlier in the day, the Israeli army radio reported. The strikes represent a continuation of Israel's military operation against Iran launched Friday morning, targeting the country's nuclear program and long-range missile capabilities. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared earlier on Friday that the operation would continue until the "threat" is eliminated. "This operation will continue for as many days as it takes to remove this threat," Netanyahu said. Iran's IRNA News Agency reported that air defenses were reactivated in the capital Tehran to intercept fresh Israeli strikes.
