United States - June 12, 2025 Sheriff Wayne Ivey issued a chilling public warning to protesters on Thursday, threatening lethal force against anyone demonstrating violently in upcoming rallies. The sheriff made the remarks during a press conference as protests continue nationwide over increasing ICE arrests under the Trump administration. “If you block an intersection or a roadway in Brevard County, you are going to jail,” Ivey declared. “If you flee arrest, you’re going to go to jail tired because we are going to run you down and put you in jail.” He continued with disturbing threats toward those who might confront vehicles during the demonstrations. “If you try to mob rule a car in Brevard County, gathering around it, refusing to let the driver leave in our county, you’re most likely going to get run over and dragged across the street,” he said. Protests erupted in Los Angeles last Friday and are expected to spread across the country through the weekend, aligning with the president’s birthday parade. Sheriff Ivey made clear his department’s intent to retaliate with force against any perceived act of aggression. “If you spit on us, you’re going to the hospital and then jail,” he warned. “If you hit one of us, you’re going to the hospital and jail, and most likely get bitten by one of our big, beautiful dogs we have here.” In the most extreme moment of the conference, Ivey stated, “If you throw a brick, a firebomb, or point a gun at one of our deputies, we will be notifying your family where to collect your remains, because we will kill you, graveyard dead.” “We’re not going to play,” the sheriff concluded.
