This is the shocking moment a monkey stole food while rampaging through a supermarket.

Footage shows the mischievous primate rummaging through snacks displayed on racks inside the store in Taoyuan, Taiwan.

It can be seen perched on a shelf while grabbing a red cup of noodles on June 12.

Moments later, it leapt off the stand, causing items to fall onto the floor as a customer opened his umbrella to shoo the animal away.

After a laborious effort chasing the monkey, staff managed to remove it from the building.

It was later spotted sitting on the side mirror of a parked motorcycle.

Monkeys are common in the region and are known to snatch food, break into homes, and hop onto cars in search of meals.
