Clingy monkey refuses to let go of woman's leg
This is the amusing moment a clingy monkey refused to let go of a woman's leg.
Footage shows the affectionate primate clinging to the holidaymaker at Guiyang Qianlingshan Park in Guizhou, China.
The macaque, sitting on the ground, can be seen stubbornly bracing itself against the visibly nervous woman on August 27.
The vacationer's boyfriend, standing behind her, attempted to help by handing a biscuit to the animal, but another monkey nearby snatched it away.
The filmer said: 'Other tourists tried to help, and they eventually managed to remove the monkey.'
Monkeys are common in the area, and there have been reports of them taking items, attacking tourists, and even barging into homes in search of food.
They are also curious animals that enjoy socialising with humans, often making themselves comfortable around them.
Authorities advise staying calm, avoiding sudden movements or eye contact, not struggling, and seeking medical attention if bitten or scratched by a wild monkey.
Monkeys, like other animals, may act aggressively when they feel threatened. Risks from monkey bites or scratches include serious infections, the herpes B virus, and rabies.
