TIRANA, ALBANIA - JUNE 16, 2025: Leaders arrived in Albanian capital Tirana on Monday, June 16, for the Heads of State and Government Summit of the Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP). Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan attended the summit on behalf of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to Turkish diplomatic sources. Organized under the theme Promoting Stability and Prosperity through Regional Cooperation and EU Integration, the summit brought together heads of state, government officials, foreign ministers from 13 participating countries, and European Union representatives. The final declaration will emphasize the importance of regional ownership in fostering sustainable development, security, and stability. It is also expected to note Türkiye’s diplomatic efforts to help end the Russia-Ukraine war and express support for a fair and lasting peace in Gaza. The SEECP is a regional forum for dialogue and cooperation among Southeast European countries. The 13 participating countries are Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Türkiye.
