This is the dramatic moment tourists plunged into the sea during a parasailing ride gone wrong in the Philippines.

Footage shows the holidaymakers slowly falling through the air after the speedboat pulling them suddenly stalled off the coast of Boracay Island.

The holidaymakers floated toward the sea as the parasail rope slackened. They were quickly scooped out of the water by lifeguards on standby.

Authorities said the speedboat had suffered an engine malfunction causing it to halt.

The tourists were unharmed from the unexpected fall.
