This is the grim moment a woman found a live caterpillar crawling around in her takeaway bowl.

Chelsea Hernandez, 32, picked up food from Chipotle in Wood Village, Oregon.

But when she got home she spotted the green bug wriggling among the ingredients.

Chelsea contacted the restaurant and was told the incident would be looked into.

Chelsea, from Gresham, Oregon, said: "I didn't continue eating."

"I was worried there might be more bugs or even faeces. "

"It just wasn't worth the risk."

"I was grossed out and appalled."
