Los Angeles, United States - June 17, 2025 06/16/2025 06:19 pm GMT-0700 PIRU, Calif. – Ventura County firefighters battled a fast-moving brush fire in the hills of Piru, south of Highway 126. The fire, which was first reported to be five acres, quickly grew to 38.8 acres as of 8 p.m. Firefighters are actively battling flames in the 3800 block of Guilberson, as of 8:12 p.m. Firefighters have identified a possible point of origin where the fire may have started and have taped off the area along a fire road. An arson investigator could be seen photographing the area and documenting the possible crime scene. It is unclear if this fire was started by arson; however, this is the second fire in the general area this afternoon.
