On June 27, in Huaxi District of Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, two kitchen knives suddenly fell from a high floor onto the sidewalk in front of a street-facing beverage shop. One of the knives struck a parked motorcycle and bounced to the ground, narrowly missing the motorcycle owner. Startled, the man quickly ducked and looked up toward the building.

After landing on the road, one of the knives appeared to have a chipped corner, likely damaged on impact.

Guiyang police have stated they are launching an investigation into the incident.

Lawyer Feng Lihua commented that if the situation is confirmed, the person who threw the knives could be charged with the crime of throwing objects from a height. If someone had been injured, it could constitute intentional injury; if it had caused death, it could potentially lead to charges of intentional homicide.
