A new China-Europe freight train route linking Beijing to Baku of Azerbaijan was launched Monday. The cargo train, carrying 104 standard containers of such products as auto parts, mechanical equipment and books, departed from Beijing International Land Port in Fangshan District of the Chinese capital, and will exit the country via the Horgos Port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Riding on the "rail-sea-rail" multimodal transport, the payload is scheduled to get across the Caspian Sea by ship, and arrive in the Azerbaijani capital in 15 days. Compared with the sea-road transportation departing from Tianjin, this 8,000-plus-kilometer route will shorten the delivery time by nearly 30 days. Some of the goods will also be distributed to countries such as Georgia, Türkiye and Serbia after arriving at the destination. SHOTLIST: Beijing, China - June 30, 2025 1.
