STORYLINE:
A China-Europe freight train departed from Chongqing's Tuanjiecun Station on the Spring Festival, which falls on Wednesday this year.
Loaded with 110 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) of goods including mechanical parts, light industrial products, and electronic products, the train is expected to reach Alashankou Port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in about three days.
By the end of 2024, the China-Europe freight train service operated by Chongqing has handled more than 16,000 trains and transported over 50,000 types of goods, covering 116 cities in Europe and Asia, since its launch in 2011.
