A furious husband allegedly set alight his wife's car because the massage she was giving him was not strong enough.

Khunakorn, 31, was having the rub down from his partner Wichuda, 34, but complained, so she walked away and refused to continue.

The angry spouse is said to have retaliated by torching her green Isuzu pickup truck that was parked in front of a temple in Suphan Buri, Thailand, on July 2.

Police Captain Thanakorn Kaenphutsa of U-Thong Police Station went to the scene after receiving a report of a vehicle fire at 1pm.

Wichuda recounted that she had worked as a fruit vendor with her husband, Khunakorn, 31, after being together for over a decade.

Before the incident, she was selling fruit when her husband told her that he had back pain.

She gave him a massage shortly before telling Khunakorn that she needed to continue working.

Her husband became furious and said he was still in agony because her massage was not strong enough. He allegedly insulted her, wrecked her stall, and walked away.

Wichuda told police that ten minutes later she heard someone shouting that the car was on fire.

She ran to the scene and found employees from two gold shops stopping the fire with water and a fire extinguisher.

The wife said that the culprit was her husband, who was angry about her massage.

She said that in the past, Khunakorn would become furious and liked to burn items when angry, which she had been able to stop every time except in this case.

Wichuda said that she intended to pursue legal action against her husband,d

After the incident, Khunakorn walked to the vehicle and denied burning it before walking away.

However, the security camera captured the moment he went inside the vehicle at 12.14pm. He left the vehicle before the fire broke out in less than 30 seconds.

Bystanders noticed the fire and managed to stop it before it completely engulfed the car.

Police Captain Thanakorn said: ‘We will track down the suspect for interrogation to proceed with legal action, according to the wife's wishes.'
