Storyline: Night economy thrives across China [Voice_over] As dusk falls over Shanghai, Nanjing Road bursts to life - open-air concerts, dazzling lights, and the buzz of languages from around the world. Nearby, a special "Night Bus" shuttles visitors between shopping hubs, offering a leisurely tour of the city's commercial landmarks. Onboard one of its newest attractions - a party-themed circus bus - acrobats flip, clowns juggle, and robots tip their hats. It’s an up-close, laugh-out-loud experience. [Sound_bite] German tourist: "We really love it. It's very special. It's very big. It has a huge offer. We don't have that in Germany. So, it's very special for us." [Voice_over] In Beijing, visitors glide through a "flower tunnel" on inflatable rafts - the city’s first night-time drifting experience, offering a cool escape from the summer heat. Out west in Gansu, Dunhuang's ancient murals inspire lantern-lit night markets, where every stall tells a Silk Road story. Meanwhile in Hangzhou, technology meets tradition. Its "Magic Night" blends museums, music, and interactive light installations - turning the city into a living gallery. And it’s not just culture. Sports fans are fueling the after-dark economy too. In host cities of China’s “Su Chao” soccer league, fans gather for crayfish feasts and giant screen matches - cheering, eating, and spending together. [Sound_bite] Football fan: "We’re watching the game, eating crayfish, soaking in the vibe...it’s awesome!" [Voice_over] According to China’s Ministry of Commerce, 60 percent of the urban consumption now happens after dark - triple daytime spending. As more cities embrace the night, a brighter, bolder economy is waking up. [Restrictions : No access Chinese mainland]
