WIDE SHOT OF AREA (TWO SHOTS) RAMALLAH, WEST BANK, PALESTINE - JULY 4: Illegal Israeli settlers carried out an attack on protesting Palestinians in the West Bank, on Friday (June 4). The protesters gathered against the obstacles of Israel and illegal settlers that force Palestinians to travel 15-16 kilometers longer way to reach their lands which are approximately three kilometers away in the Al-Mazra'a ash-Sharqiya Town. They took the press members to their lands to show the effects of settler attacks, where they were once again subjected to the illegal settlers’ attacks. The settlers set fire to vehicles and broke the windows of cars owned by Palestinians. Muhammad Amra, a Palestinian and US citizen, said the illegal settlers had targeted his house and car, looting all of his equipment just two weeks ago. Local Palestinians emphasized that settlers frequently raid the area and attack Palestinian-owned homes. "We came here to peacefully protest the takeover of our lands by illegal settlers. And we came peacefully and they just started coming from different sides and they broke my (car) window," said the Palestinian protester, Nazar Milbis. "They chased us down from over there and we just ran for our lives basically. These settlers are out of control," he added. Israel has accelerated its settlement activities in the occupied territory since the start of its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023. According to Palestinian figures, at least 988 Palestinians have been killed and more than 7,000 injured in the West Bank by Israeli forces and illegal settlers since October 2023. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) last July declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
