TikTok user @christinakidder7 has ignited a wave of online support after posting a video that has now surpassed 7 million views, showing her rent check being refused and placed on the floor by a leasing office employee. The reason? A $900 landscaping rock charge, she claims she never agreed to.

Christina had emailed Invitation Homes, the rental agency, about the weed-filled front yard, noting there was no landscaping in place. She offered to split future costs since she planned to stay for two years, but received no response. Later, rocks were installed without her consent, and she was billed.

Initially told she wouldn’t have to pay, she was then informed she’d need to cover half the cost. When she refused to sign an agreement, the office refused her rent payment, prompting her to file a 60-day notice to vacate.

The viral video shows her check being dismissed, sparking debate over tenant rights, landscaping responsibilities, and rental transparency.
