US, Phoenix: Tempe 1st Alarm Apartment Fire

Phoenix, United States - July 09, 2025 07/09/2025 04:09 am GMT-0700 TEMPE, Ariz. – Firefighters from the cities of Tempe, Phoenix, Mesa, and the town of Guadalupe responded to reports of an apartment fire near the intersection of Carter Road and Mill Avenue at approximately 4:09 a.m. Crews arrived to find smoke billowing from a second-floor unit. The assignment was upgraded to a first alarm due to the severity of the blaze and the size of the structure. Dozens of residents were evacuated as crews worked to extinguish the flames. No injuries have been reported at the time. Tempe Fire officials are working to determine the exact number of apartment units affected. The number of displaced occupants has yet to be confirmed. The Tempe CARE unit was standing by to assist any displaced residents. The scene has been turned over to Tempe FD fire investigators.
