Cabin crew wrestle with crazed fans trying to reach Chinese actor in business class
On 8 July, during Xiamen Airlines flight MF8330 from Changsha to Fuzhou, several fans forcibly entered the business class cabin to surround actor Tian Xuning before the aircraft had come to a complete stop.
Video footage shows multiple people crowding into the aisle, holding their phones up to film. Three flight attendants can be seen trying to block the crowd and pulling the curtain shut while urging, “Please return to your seats, stop pushing forward. The plane hasn’t stopped yet, don’t rush. Wait until it’s come to a halt—ensure your own safety.”
Other passengers were heard saying, “If this continues, we’ll have to call the police.”
Although Tian Xuning responded, “Can you move back, please?” he was unable to stop the fans’ behaviour.
A lawyer noted that such actions may violate the Public Security Administration Punishments Law, and those disturbing public order may face detention.
On 9 July, a Xiamen Airlines spokesperson stated, “The company is aware of the incident, which was caused by fans chasing a celebrity. The cabin crew made every effort to stop it and handled the situation according to protocol. The incident did not affect the flight’s normal operations and caused no delay or obstruction.”
