On 13 August at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport in Sichuan, three elderly people attempted to walk the wrong way on an escalator, blocking the passage of passengers going down. Two of them gave up halfway due to exhaustion, but one in red persisted all the way to the top, nearly losing balance and stumbling at one point.

According to airport customer service, such behaviour poses serious safety risks, not only endangering the elderly themselves but also potentially causing harm to other passengers. The incident has been recorded and will be passed on to the relevant departments for verification and handling. The airport has said it will strengthen management to prevent similar unsafe and uncivilised behaviour from happening again.
