Storyline: The European Union (EU) and Israel have reached an agreement to improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, said the European External Action Service on Thursday. The deal will allow a substantial increase of daily trucks for aid and supplies to enter Gaza and open more crossing points in the northern and southern parts of Gaza. Israel also committed to the reopening of aid routes from Jordan and Egypt, the resumption of fuel deliveries for use by humanitarian facilities, the protection of aid workers, and the repair and facilitation of works on vital infrastructure like the resumption of the power supply to the water desalination facility. The EU stands ready to coordinate with all UN agencies and NGOs, to ensure swift implementation of those urgent steps. Shotlist: FILE: Brussels, Belgium - Dec 15, 2022: 1.
