A couple getting married had their own Red Arrows display - after a cheeky request by family.

Claire Shotton-Brooks, 38, reached out to the aerobatics display team after finding out they would be passing above the big day of mum Dawn Stamp, 63, and stepdad Trevor Stamp, 53.

They were due to be married and she thought it would make for a great surprise at the bash at Old Oak Farm in Currey Rivel, Somerset on July 12.

Claire sent an email not expecting to hear anything back.

To her surprise, she got a reply - which said a potential flyover would be "down to Red 1's discretion"."

Amazingly, The Reds appeared above the venue, moving the wedding party to tears - and providing the happy couple with the ultimate gift from their daughter.

Claire has since shared a video of the moment on TikTok, which has already received more than four million views.

She said: "I had no idea if they were going to do it. It wasn't until the day and we all went outside and we saw them coming and we just burst into tears because it was amazing. "

"They got the message and they did it - it was absolutely incredible."

Claire said she spotted on social media the day before the wedding that the Red Arrows were flying right over the wedding venue on their way to Bournemouth, Dorset.

She added: "I emailed them asking if they could turn on the smoke on even in just one of the planes for a couple of seconds as they pass through Curry Rivel just to say hello to my mum because it would be amazing."

"They replied - which I was amazed at - saying that it was down to Red 1's discretion."

Claire explained that the venue even moved the food forward so they could go outside at 4.30pm when they knew the Red Arrows were going to fly over.

When they flew over the venue and put their smoke one, Trevor and Dawn were left "speechless"."

"They were over the moon," added Claire."

The couple from Somerset met 25 years ago and got engaged 15 years ago casually over a meal.

But last Christmas Dawn decided to ask Trevor to marry her and finally after a quarter of a century arranged to get married.

The ceremony took place at the Old Oak Farm during the heatwave, with temperatures hitting 30 degree Celsius.

Claire said: "They got married under an oak tree in the sun. It was amazing."
