Palestine action, Eight placard holders arrested, Truro Cathedral, alleged offence under Section 3 of the Terrorism Act 2000
Eight people are arrested outside the Cathedral in Cornwall. Using the power of a new amendment to Terrorist law, Palestine Action placard holders are detained for showing support for the proscribed organization, Using Section 3 of the Terrorism Act 2000. The mainly senior citizens involved include a retired magistrate and two members of the Order of the British Empire. An award for sustained good service. Those accused, and detained, declared it a matter of conscience. A spokesman present, Matt Osmond said that these protests will continue throughout the country regardless of consequences. Mr Osmond also stated the "Wedonotcomply" organization intends to take the government decision to proscribe Palestine Action to the International Court of Justice at The Haig for judgment. The protest dissipated after the Eight individuals were taken from Cathedral Square for the 88 miles journey to Exeter and police custody for processing.
