This is the adorable moment a clingy pet tortoise followed it caretaker around a farm to ask for food.

Footage shows the African Spurred Tortoise, also known as a sulcata tortoise, waddling behind its handler Pichaya in Ratchaburi, central Thailand.

The worker evaded the reptile and continued going about his chores, as the persistent shelled creature continued tailing him.

Pichaya said: 'Whoever said that tortoises move slowly?'

Sulcata tortoises are one of the largest tortoise species in the world and are native to the southern edge of the Sahara Desert in Africa. They can live for more than 70 years, grow up to 100 pounds or more, and require ample space, warmth to thrive in captivity.
