Jacksonville, United States - July 25, 2025 Last week, JSO VICE Unit detectives were on their way to serve a warrant when they came upon the scene of a severe two-vehicle accident. An SUV had flipped over near Shindler Drive on Collins Road. Despite the urgency of their mission, the detectives immediately stopped to assist. They quickly freed two people trapped inside the overturned vehicle. JSO Patrol Medic Brooke Mallory, assigned to the warrant team for safety, used her medical skills to care for the injured couple. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue arrived soon after to provide further treatment. The victims suffered lacerations and other injuries. After the rescue, detectives were able to complete their warrant service. Officials remind drivers to slow down, stay alert, and avoid distractions behind the wheel. Without seat belts and fast action from first responders, the outcome could have been far worse.
