A furious Thai mayor dumped rubbish outside a Chinese factory in revenge for alleged fly-tipping.

Municipal officials returned the illegally discarded waste to the front of the factory in Chonburi, eastern Thailand, on July 23.

Footage shows a truck unloading piles of black rubbish bags at the entrance of the facility. The move came following complaints from disgruntled residents about the piles of garbage found in restricted areas.

Chawinkraiwit Singtothong, mayor of the Nong Chak subdistrict, said: 'It was found that the culprit was a food vendor serving factory workers in Nong Chak. The vendor secretly dumped the garbage, so I had it collected and unloaded right in front of the factory.

'Even though it was just household waste, they had no permission from the municipality and chose a prohibited area. There was a lot of garbage because there were 15,000 factory employees.'

The operator reportedly violated the Public Health Act and the 'Act on the Maintenance of the Cleanliness and Orderliness of the Country'.

Chawinkraiwit said he will convene the local food vendors selling to the factory to reach a solution.
