6. ACTIVISTS GATHERING AND CHANTING SLOGANS OUTSIDE NBC AND FOX NEWS WASHINGTON DC, US - JULY 28: Protesters gathered outside the headquarters of NBC News and FOX News in Washington, D.C., on Monday, July 28, banging pots and pans to draw attention to the deepening hunger crisis in Gaza.

Holding signs that read “Stop Media Complicity in Genocide” and “US Media manufactures consent for Israel's crimes,” demonstrators accused major American news outlets of complicity in the deaths of Palestinians—many of them children—by failing to report fully on Israel’s role in blocking aid and fueling famine.

Chanting “Don’t be complicit in starvation,” activists argued that biased coverage helps shield Israeli military actions from accountability and contributes to the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe.

Organizers said their aim was to hold mainstream media accountable for “turning a blind eye” to suffering and hunger in Gaza, as famine spreads under Israel’s months-long blockade.

Rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, killing nearly 60,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children. The relentless bombardment has destroyed the enclave and led to food shortages.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
