3. INTERVIEW WITH DR HANI EL-FILIT, HEAD OF PEDIATRICS AT AL-AQSA MARTYRS HOSPITAL GAZA, PALESTINE - SEPTEMBER 4: The ongoing blockade imposed by Israel has severely restricted the flow of food and medicine into the Gaza Strip, worsening the hunger crisis, particularly for children and infants.

Ten-year-old Amine Mustafa Abdullah Maruf is among those affected, receiving treatment for severe malnutrition at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, where resources remain limited.

Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that six people, including a child, died of starvation and severe malnutrition in the last 24 hours, bringing the total famine-related deaths to 367, including 131 children.

The ministry added that 89 of the deaths, 16 of them children, occurred after the UN-backed Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) officially declared Gaza a famine zone last month.

The Israeli army has launched a brutal military offensive on the Gaza Strip, killing more than 63,700 Palestinians. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, which is facing famine.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
