This is the dramatic moment cars battled through deadly floods in Romania.

Footage shows vehicles cautiously navigating flooded roads, with some vehicles partially submerged in Suceava on July 28.

Officials confirmed that the freak weather, which struck overnight and into Monday, has killed at least three people and caused damage to thousands of homes.

Local media reported that around 25 villages across nine counties were affected. The worst-hit areas were Neamt and Suceava counties in eastern Romania, where two rivers burst their banks.

Hundreds of residents were evacuated as floodwaters swept through the region, with some being rescued by aircraft.

The Romanian General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said: 'Across the troubled waters, rescuers stepped in time to bring more people to safety – adults and children – battling rough weather and seconds.

'Behind these moments are people who do not give up. Those who choose, moment by moment, to be there for those in need.'
