Heavy rainfall on Monday, July 28, caused the Sai River—which runs along the Thailand–Myanmar border—to overflow, leading to flash floods in low-lying areas of Tachileik, Shan State. Floodwaters affected several neighborhoods, including Pone Htun, Talawt, and Makao Kham wards. As a precaution, authorities cut electricity to minimize safety risks.
