Los Angeles, United States - August 01, 2025 07/31/2025 11:20 pm GMT-0700 LONG BEACH, Calif. – Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred late Thursday night near the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and Bort Street in Long Beach, California. Officers with the Long Beach Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the area and located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. According to officials, the victim was barely breathing when officers arrived and immediately began administering aid. Emergency medical personnel from the Long Beach Fire Department arrived shortly after to take over lifesaving efforts. At 11:50 p.m., the victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The Long Beach Police Department has secured the scene and launched a homicide investigation. No suspect information has been made available.
