Typhoon Co-may left behind widespread damage in the Philippines.

Footage captured by Cyril Piernas shows leaves and branches resting against a power pole, blocking the entrance of a damaged restaurant in San Fernando, La Union.

A tree trunk, which had previously been lodged against the building facade, had already been removed and was seen lying on the roadside.

Electricity cables were also found entangled and pinned along the same area.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported that infrastructure projects worth an estimated GBP 1.34 million (PHP 103 million) were destroyed by freak weather in the region.

Typhoon Co-may, locally known as Emong, made landfall over Agno in Pangasinan at 10:40 pm on Thursday, July 24, bringing maximum sustained winds of up to 120 km/h and gusts reaching 165 km/h.

Co-may made its second landfall in Candon City, Ilocos Sur, at 5:10 am on Friday. It was the strongest tropical cyclone to hit this region of the Philippines in 16 years.
