A tourist visited the spot where Canada and the US border meet.

Footage shows Evangeline Callejo exploring the area, appearing mesmerised that she could take one step to switch between countries in Abbotsford on August 10.

She used her foot to point out which side was American and which was Canadian.

Evangeline said: ‘That was at 0 Avenue near Abbotsford International Airport. Visiting this spot was never part of the plan, we originally went to Abbotsford just to watch the Airshow.

‘After the event, I noticed on Google Maps that we were surprisingly close to the US border, so I decided to check out what it looked like. That's when I discovered that not all parts of the Canada–US border have barriers.

‘In some areas, there are only fences at specific points, while more populated or easily accessible locations usually have fences, cameras, or sensors.

'In remote regions, border security relies more on surveillance technology and patrols rather than physical barriers.'
