Five Thai soldiers injured in clashes along the Cambodian border were transferred to a hospital in Bangkok today.

The troops had received treatment at a hospital in Ubon Ratchathani before being airlifted to the capital city today for further care.

They were flown to the Wing 6 air base and were escorted in an ambulance convoy.

Footage shows traffic police blasting sirens and clearing the way as the medical vehicle navigated the packed roads.

The soldiers arrived at Phra Mongkut Klao Hospital at 12:14 pm local time.

A bloody military confrontation flared in long-disputed border areas as Thailand and Cambodia accused each other of instigating the violence on July 24.

Cambodia retaliated by firing rockets into neighbouring Surin and Sisaket provinces.

Officials said dozens of people have been killed and more than 300,000 displaced on both sides of the territory.

Both sides have reached a shaky truce following talks facilitated by President Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Negotiations are set to continue at the Thai-Cambodian Regional Border Committee meeting on August 27.
