Los Angeles, United States - August 19, 2025 08/19/2025 02:19 am GMT-0700 DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, LOS ANGELES, Calif – First responders from the Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles Fire Department, and California Highway Patrol were dispatched Tuesday morning to a reported crash at the intersection of Aliso and Broadway. Upon arrival, they discovered an Audi sedan that had crashed through a metal railing on Broadway. The vehicle was precariously close to falling onto the 101 Freeway below. The driver, a male, appeared to be uninjured. He was believed to have been traveling north on Arcadia while attempting to make a left turn onto Broadway, but it was determined that he was going too fast, which led to the crash. LAPD Central Traffic units evaluated the man to assess if he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Authorities ultimately took him into custody for driving under the influence. To ensure safety and prevent any debris from potentially falling onto traffic below, CHP temporarily shut down the northbound lane of the 101 while a tow truck removed the vehicle.
