Business-owners make final preparations ahead of 2m revellers descending over the Bank Holiday Weekend for Notting Hill Carnival as area becomes eerily quiet
Business-owners were busily making last-minute final preparations for the Notting Hill Carnival this evening ahead of 2m people descending on the area over the next two days (August 23).
Workers hired by shop owners had drills to the ready as protective boards were fixed around windows and doors in and around the parade route.
Others adapted their businesses to allow for revellers to purchase food and drink via temporary hatches and counters as an estimated 5 tonnes of chicken and 5 million hot and cold drinks will consumed at Carnival.
Graffiti artists soon followed, with the empty boards becoming irresistible, and were soon filled with colourful pieces of work and tags.
