This is the touching moment pupils and staff surprised their school head with a heartwarming celebration.

Thoughtful faculty members and students organized a party for Principal Manuel Esperanza to celebrate his 61st birthday at Panabo National High School in Davao del Norte, the Philippines.

Footage captured by teacher Eda Mabala shows Boy and Girl Scouts, along with other pupils, lining the corridor holding 61 cakes, which the principal blew out on August 20.

The school grounds were showered with colorful confetti as cheers echoed from students on each floor of the building.

Manuel can be seen waving to the crowd while making his way toward the stage, where dancers awaited to perform for the celebration.

Eda said: 'The cakes were later shared back in the students' classrooms.'
