Shenzhen in south China's Guangdong Province has fast become a global hub for high-tech bicycle manufacturing, with innovation and industrial upgrades fueling record exports and boosting the global profile of China-made cycling products. Leading the charge is XDS Shenzhen Xidesheng Bicycles, the largest manufacturer of carbon-fiber bicycles in the world, with an annual capacity exceeding 10 million units. The company has a complete industrial chain, covering all links from new material research and development, to automated production lines and channel sales. According to at Xidesheng, continual investment in research and development based on consumer feedback has propelled their carbon fiber frame technology and smart cycling systems to the forefront of international standards. The popularity within the bicycle industry has catalyzed the sales of production equipment, sportswear, and cycling consumables, driving Shenzhen's bicycle products towards rapid internationalization. According to data from Shenzhen Customs, in the first seven months of 2025, Shenzhen exported bicycles worth 680 million yuan (about 95.36 million U.S. dollars), representing a year-on-year increase of 50.8 percent.
