Airport crews rescue man trapped neck-deep in escalator
A man got trapped in an escalator under construction at Beijing Capital International Airport on November 14.
The video shows the man stuck in a hole that opened up on an escalator, while an airport staff member maintains order on the site.
The staff says to the onlookers “Don’t get too close! Stay away from here”.
According to reports, the escalator was closed and blocked by the 'no access' signboard, as it was being repaired.
However, the man ignored the signboard and walked onto the escalator, getting trapped as the steps fell through.
The man was eventually rescued and sent to hospital for treatment. However it is still unclear why he walked inside the closed area.
